Hey, pretty people!

I think that drugstore makeup is the first concept everybody is introduced to when it comes to cosmetics, and I genuinely believe it is an incredibly underrated one.

I have seen and heard people look down on drugstore makeup, particularly drugstore foundations, because they simply think that the more you spend, the higher quality you get. Let me tell you, that isn’t always true.

My Top 5 Favorite Drugstore FoundationsNow, I am by no means saying that spending a bit more on your makeup isn’t worth it. I personally have more expensive items in my kit (mostly eyeshadow palettes), and I really couldn’t be happier with them. The only point I am trying to get across is that you shouldn’t look down on cheaper alternatives.

There are so many possibilities to try out at the drugstore, and one of them is obviously foundation.

Foundation is one of those products I simply cannot substitute in my routine, and one that I appreciate in all its forms.

No matter the finish or the consistency, I am a fan of everything as long as it looks good on the skin.

I like to experiment and try out new formulas and brands every once in a while, and I have had a good share of pleasant and unpleasant experiences.

Today, however, we’re only gonna be looking at the pleasant ones!

So, are you ready to find out my Top 5 Favorite Drugstore Foundations?

Let’s get started!

5. REVLON – Colorstay Foundation (150 – Buff)

My Top 5 Favorite Drugstore FoundationsThis is one of the most recent addition to my collection, and it was suggested by one of my closest friends. She was in love with the lightweight formula, and believed I was going to appreciate it as well.

The Colorstay foundation is marketed as the perfect formula for combo to oily skintypes, which is exactly where my skin types falls. Moreover, the matte finish is enriched by SPF 15.

I genuinely find this formula to be quite good for people with oily skin, especially if you don’t want to feel like you have a mask on your face; it is incredibly light, but also able to provide an efficient coverage. It is not the fullest one, but it’s an easily buildable one.

This is a great starting point if you have never worn foundation before, but would like to start. It’s not too heavy nor too sheer, and comes at a great price as well.

Moreover, it comes in a total of 43 shades; not many drugstore foundations offer this selection!

4. REVOLUTION PRO – Foundation Drops (F1)

My Top 5 Favorite Drugstore Foundations
I’m sorry for not including a ‘personal’ picture, but I finished the product a while back and threw it away. However, I left a link of my review in the post!

If Colorstay is a light foundation formula, let me tell you: this one will literally almost ‘evaporate’ on your skin.

This consistency is light and comfortable to wear, melting on the skin and eliminating the annoying feeling of something sitting on top of it. It doesn’t offer the most full-coverage finish, but it’s an easily buildable one.

I believe the wild card here is the dropper applicator. It is a little hard to pick up enough formula with it, but once you get the hang of it the application is as easy as ever.

If you prefer a lighter and more natural finish, this product is definitely the way to go; also, it comes in a total of 18 shades.

3. MAYBELLINE – Dream Radiant Liquid Foundation (3.7 – Vanilla)

My Top 5 Favorite Drugstore FoundationsI bought this foundation a little over a month ago, and I have been enjoying it quite a bit. I haven’t worn it every single day because of the heat, but the times where I did it was quite the pleasant experience.

This formula is enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen, providing a great amount of hydration to your skin (the official claim stands at 12 hours). While I do find this foundation to be hydrating, I also believe it to be quite a light and not greasy one.

It is a nice in-between choice in my opinion, perfect for skin types that range from dry to combination. However, I wouldn’t exactly recommend it to somebody who actually has a properly oily skin type.

It comes in 20 different shades, and I will be dropping my review for it very soon!

2. REVOLUTION – Fast Base Foundation (F1)

My Top 5 Favorite Drugstore FoundationsStick products, especially foundations and concealers, are usually quite intimidating for me. I have always found it a little hard to find that perfect consistency, not to mention finding one that provides the perfect amount of coverage.

The Fast Base foundation was definitely a risky purchase for me, mainly because I did not have any chance to swatch it beforehand and feel the formula on my skin. Thankfully, it turned out to be one of my favorite picks for spring and summer, when the weather gets a little warmer.

This consistency is incredibly creamy and smooth, and – of course – highly hydrating; Fast Base is perfect for dry skin types, and for anyone who prefers a much natural and lighter base. The pigmentation is overall good, especially for a stick formula, but it’s easily buildable (and blendable!) as well.

Lastly, it comes in a total of 18 shades..

1. FOCALLURE – Skin Evolution Fluid Foundation (01 – Alabaster)

This foundation is my absolute drugstore favorite, and I am sure it will be for a long time to come. It also happens to be the cheapest one of the list! It is one of the best drugstore foundations ever, at least for me.

My Top 5 Favorite Drugstore FoundationsSkin Evolution is, in my opinion, a dream come true if you love a full-coverage base that manages to still look and feel natural on the skin. The major downside to it is that it doesn’t come in many shades.

The pigmentation is absolutely mind-blowing, and it doesn’t look cakey on the skin. Moreover, the formula melts wonderfully on the skin and doesn’t create than unpleasant feeling of ‘sitting on top of it’. I would recommend it for dry to combination skin types, leaving the oily ones out. However, a proper prepping and setting will make it last for hours on end without budging in any way.

In my opinion, this brand is one of the most underrated in the makeup world at the moment. This product is certainly one of the best formulas you’ll find.
