Hey, pretty people!

This recipe is something completely new for both me and my blog, and I am actually super excited to bring it here!

D’Fluff is a shaving soap by Lush, and a fairly new concept for me. I have never really purchased nor tried anything similar, and crafting it up myself seemed slightly intimidating. The ingredients are super cheap and kind of common to come by, but the crafting process is what kind of held me back.

After a few trial and errors, I finally decided to swallow my pride and whip out my blender. Needless to say, that’s where the consistency of the product greatly improved!

This shaving soap is super gentle and perfect for every area of your body (even though I would exclude your most intimate one), and smells absolutely incredible.

So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Lush D’Fluff Shaving Soap?

Let’s get started!

YOU’LL NEED

  • 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 1/2 cup of Cocoa Butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Rosehip Oil
  • A handful of Fresh Strawberries
  • 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • 15 drops of Rose Essential Oil
  • A blender
  • A container of choice

Before jumping straight into the crafting process, let’s do a quick run-down of these ingredients and a few of their benefits for your skin.

COCONUT OIL

Coconut Oil is a recurrent ingredient when it comes to skincare, and it is a pretty amazing moisturizer. It can also help fight cellulite and stretch marks, reducing their appearance and promoting tighter and healthier skin.

COCOA BUTTER

Cocoa Butter is yet another moisturizing ingredient, and can also promote the appearance of healthier and younger skin. It can help smooth out cellulite and fight stretch marks as well.

ROSEHIP OIL

To furtherly enrich the hydrating element of D’Fluff, here is a small dose of Rosehip Oil. This is also the perfect anti-aging ingredient, and can brighten the complexion while fighting hyperpigmentation.

FRESH STRAWBERRIES

I know that Fresh Strawberries seem like a super weird ingredient here, but trust me; they have a few tricks up their sleeves (or leaves?)! Rich in Vitamin C, they will help brighten as well as lighten the complexion, fighting dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Also, they can enhance your natural complexion and make it look more radiant and awake.

VANILLA EXTRACT

Besides being an obvious flavor enhancer, Vanilla Extract can also give a valuable help when it comes to your skin’s health. Full of antibacterial properties, this liquid will help you fight acne and annoying imperfections, as well as fighting aging signs like fine lines and wrinkles.

ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL

Rose Essential Oil is one more ingredient that aims at hydrating your skin, and works wonderfully for dry skin types. It will help you fight acne and keep breakouts at bay, as well as efficiently fight redness.

Alright, let’s get crafting!

Firstly, you want to melt your coconut oil and cocoa butter completely. I personally like to blend them together, but feel free to do it separately. Also, to ensure a smoother consistency and an easier melting process, stir the two from time to time.

While these two are melting, pop your strawberries in your blender and start transforming them into a liquid paste. Then, add all the other liquid ingredients – including the coconut oil and cocoa butter.

This step is going to be super annoying, but I promise it’s an essential one as well.

Keep blending the ingredients together for a couple of minutes, to make sure you really have a smooth consistency going on.

Lastly, pour the mixure in your desired container.

And your DIY Lush D’Fluff Shaving Soap is all ready to go!
