Hey, pretty people!

I have only recently discovered the Korean skincare brand Holika Holika, and have slowly but surely fallen in love with it.

Beauty Bay Skincare Haul | Revolution Beauty, YesTo, TheOrdinary, Holika Holika

It offers a somewhat wide range of different products and formulas, but their most popular offer have to be their sheet masks. There are literally dozens of them, and many people actually swear by them.

Since I am a big fan of face masks and also had an overall pleasant experience with the Pomegranate Juicy Mask Sheet, I decided to explore the selection even more. In order to do so, I bought their Face Mask Bundle.

This bundle features a total of 6 products, all with different benefits for the skin; they are: Charcoal, Cucumber, Green Tea, Lemon, Rice and Shea Butter.

I have tried all these masks, and am finally ready to share all my thoughts and experiences on them.

Let’s get started!

DISCLAIMER!

I usually post full, in-depth reviews of products only after testing them for quite a long time – sometime even months! This is not going to be a “complete” review, because I can’t expect to reap all the benefits a face mask can give me after one use only. I can, however, tell you my experience of that usage, and if I think the purchase of this bundle is convenient. This is what this post is all going to be about.

That being said, let’s actually dive in!

The Charcoal Mask Sheet comes in a dark grey packaging with neon light blue writings and cute glossy designs all over the front. On the back, we find all the general infos and instructions.

THE PREMISE

This face mask is supposed to detoxify the skin, drawing out impurities and efficiently cleanse pores. Since my skin was facing a stressful time and was quite in need of a good, old-fashioned detoxifying routine, I decided to give this mask a go.

The sheet is literally soaked with product, to the point where the formula would be dripping off of it. All the other masks are packed with moisture, but this one is definitely the winner! Also, it’s a true black color.

THE APPLICATION

When you first apply it on the skin, it gives off a nice refreshing sensation. It’s not as ‘harsh’ as some of the other ones, but it’s definitely there. That freshness stayed with me pretty much until the end of the day, so I would say it’s a great option for warmer months.

Besides this, I can’t really say much about this particular mask. It certainly was pleasant trying it out, but it didn’t leave as much of an impact as some other formulations have. I would recommend it, if you were looking for hydration and freshness. However, if you espect something more out of it, I don’t really think it will help you.

CUCUMBER

  • Original Price: 3.00$ | 1.95£ | 2.25€
  • 0.67 fl. Oz. (20ml)
  • One sheet mask

THE PREMISE

Holika Holika Face Mask Bundle (6 Masks) Review - Is It Worth It?

The Cucumber Mask Sheet comes in a bright (kind of neon) green packaging, with cute slices of cucumber on it. The pairing with the fuchsia writings is definitely a winning element of the general aesthetics as well. On the back, you will find the usual infos and directions.

This mask is supposedly the best rescue for sensitive and kind of dry skin, providing moisture and a whole lot of freshness to the complexion. Moreover, it claims to be a good selection to improve skin’s elasticity. I tried this formula on a tired-skin day, and here’s how it went.

THE APPLICATION

Firstly, the smell kind of surprised me; a pungent cucumber fragrance came out of the package as soon as I opened it, but disappeared once I put the sheet on my face.

Also, when I put the mask of my face, my skin immediately felt fresh. This happened with most of the other masks, I’ll give you that, but it’s nice to see this formula does exactly what it promises. This freshness stayed with me for a long time, and it was the perfect wake up call for my skin.

Once I took the mask off, I realized my skin had soaked up pretty much 90% of the overall formula, making it a whole lot easier for me to massage the rest of it in. As you may have guessed, my skin definitely felt hydrated and plumper, after this!

Another detail I noticed was that my face seemed to be slightly softer than before. It very well may be a placebo effect, but I am not too sure about it. That being said, I would 100% recommend it!

GREEN TEA

  • Original Price: 3.00$ | 1.95£ | 2.25€
  • 0.67 fl. Oz. (20ml)
  • One sheet mask

THE PREMISE

The Green Tea Sheet Mask comes in a bright green packaging with purple and dark green writings and glossy tea leaves designs on the front. On the back, we can find the usual infos about the product (both in English and Korean).

Since this mask is designed to deeply moisturize more sensitive skin types, I decided to try it out right after using my Pink Clay mask by Revolution Skincare (review here!). That formula leaves my skin quite dry, so let’s see what Green Tea did for me.

THE APPLICATION

All Holika Holika Sheet Masks are soaked with formula, but this one seems to carry just the right amount; it will be able to provide a great deal of moisture, but without leaving the skin dripping wet.

The mask is quite refreshing, even though the others seemed to be even fresher. Once taken off, the fresh element doesn’t last as long as it does with the other formulas.

When you take the mask off, the residue left on the skin is not as thick as it would be with the other sheet masks. Massaging it into the skin will leave you with a wonderfully plump and moisturized complexion that doesn’t feel weighted down.

The Green Tea Sheet Mask is super light, and perfect for your everyday usage, especially if you plan to put some makeup on later on. I would really recommend it!

LEMON

  • Original Price: 3.00$ | 1.95£ | 2.25€
  • 0.67 fl. Oz. (20ml)
  • One sheet mask

THE PREMISE

The Lemon Sheet Mask comes in a bright matte yellow packaging with cute glossy lemon designs all over; also, the writings are in a wonderful cobalt blue color that pairs perfectly with the lighter hue.

This mask is supposed to provide moisture to the skin, while making the complexion brighter thanks to the lemon extract; I tried it one morning when my skin was particularly tired, and here’s how it went.

THE APPLICATION

The formula is super refreshing, and starts melting into the skin right away; you will be able to see how soaked the cloth is, so you’ll know how hydrating the product is going to be. Moreover, the smell is very faint – I doubt you’ll actually be able to sense it!

Once you take the mask off and rub the remaining formula into the skin, you’ll notice your texture is soft and nice. You’ll definitely be feeling refreshed, and the tired feeling will be gone. I saw my skintone getting a little brighter, but it could very well be a placebo effect.

Other than these, I didn’t really see any other changes in my complexion. I would recommend it, but I would say not to expect too much from it as well.

RICE

  • Original Price: 3.00$ | 1.95£ | 2.25€

  • 0.67 fl. Oz. (20ml)

  • One sheet mask

THE PREMISE

The Rice Sheet Mask comes in a matte warm yellow packaging and a squared picture that features four different types of rice on the front.

I don’t really know why, but the fact that so many types of rice are displayed here was what stole my heart; this packaging may look basic, but I certainly appreciate the thought behind it!

This sheet mask is supposed to be a brightening one, nourishing and especially suited for more sensitive skin types; since it is also supposed to promote a much softer complexion, I decided to use it right after my Pink Clay mask by Revolution (review here). Here’s how it went.

THE APPLICATION

This sheet is certainly packed with moisture, and reminds me quite a bit of the charcoal mask; it is almost dripping with formula! Also, much like the other masks, it has a nice refreshing effect.

It is a rather sweet but faint smell, that goes away immediately after you have applied the product. Once I took the product off, my skin seemed to be slightly softer and plumper. The moisturizing effect was amazing, and I also had to wash off the excess after massaging the most part into the skin.

I definitely recommend checking this mask out, especially if your skin type happens to lean more towards the dry side!

SHEA BUTTER

  • Original Price: 3.00$ | 1.95£ | 2.25€
  • 0.77 fl. Oz. (23ml)
  • One sheet mask

THE PREMISE

This sheet mask comes in a salmon-colored packaging, with blue and peach writings on it. However, the shea butter and nuts in a glossy finish placed at the center steal all the attention. Like I said with all the masks before, I find this to be a nice addition to the simple packaging of these products, letting you know what it’s made of.

Holika Holika Face Mask Bundle (6 Masks) Review - Is It Worth It?

This face mask is supposed to be a boost of hydration, with interesting ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid and Grapefruit to promote a more even and softer complexion. I tried it while my skin was facing a dry moment, and here’s what happened.

THE APPLICATION

The texture of the product is quite lightweight, despite it being literally soaked with formula. Therefore, it does not feel heavy on the face, and adheres quite nicely to it without slipping away.

The formula feels quite refreshing on the skin, and this effect lasts until you take the product off. In fact, your natural body heat won’t deminish any of it.

Once you take the mask off, the skin is pleasantly hydrated and feels plumper, without feeling too greasy; there is still a little bit of formula on the skin, which swiftly penetrates it with a simple massage.

I also appreciated how soft the Shea Butter Sheet Mask was, and the fact that the hydration provided was enough to be considered ‘efficient’ without being too much. I believe this mask to be 100% worth trying, especially if you have a drier skin type!

FINAL THOUGHTS

This has been quite a long review!

In conclusion, would I recommend checking out the Sheet Masks by Holika Holika? Absolutely!

I believe them to be fairly high-quality products, and you can’t really go wrong with that price point! Also, you can experiment around without breaking the bank, and hopefully find your next holy grail.

PICK ONE ONLY

If you were to pick only one formulation, I would 100% endorse the Shea Butter one. That formulation had me so in love, I wrote about it in my bullet journal as my highlight of the day!

It’s certainly one of the best choices you could make to hydrate your skin and making it look much plumper in just 20 minutes; also, it’s a true life-saver for dry skin types!

SECOND PLACE

Another mask I quite enjoyed was the cucumber one. A whole lot of hydration and a whole lot of softness, just a little bit less than shea butter.

This would certainly be the perfect choice for combo and normal skin types, without giving up the freshness and gentleness of the other formulas.

Since this bundle is not available anymore on Beauty Bay (or anywhere, I think), I won’t be able to post links for it. In case you were wondering: would I recommend all of these masks, individually? I certainly would!
