Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint “Uncuffed” Review + Wear Test: Worth the Hype?

Hey, pretty people!

Notably one of the best-selling brands at Sephora, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna can’t seem to be doing any wrong.

Honestly though, you have to admit that its premises are something we can all stand by; equality and inclusivity in the beauty world are not always every brand’s top priority, and we have to give credits to Fenty for trying. Does this make them immune to critics? Absolutely not!

Today, we are going to take a deep look at one of their latest additions, the Stunna Lip Paint in “Uncuffed”; is it worth the hype it’s been receiving since its launch?

Let’s find out!

PACKAGING

I am completely and hopelessly in love with the aesthetics of this packaging.

Uncuffed

The lipstick comes in a sleek black cardboard box, with matte graffiti designs on one face and the glossy brand’s name on top. All over the box there are the product’s general information, as well as the color’s name and swatch.

Uncuffed

Opening up the box, we are reminded to shake the lipstick before applying and are finally met with the actual product. Right off the bat, the first thing I thought looking at the bottle was that it somewhat resembles Louboutin’s nail polishes; both have an elongated form and quite a long applicator.

THE BOTTLE

Uncuffed

The bottle is clear, allowing you to see the product inside, and the cap is a mirror-like silver with the brand’s name printed in a dark grey color. It has a nice weight to it.

Uncuffed

Twisting the lipstick open, the first detail that striked most people was the unique applicator; we haven’t seen anything like this yet, and it’s definitely a nice and curious change. Its hourglass form may raise some questions, but the application is actually quite easy and precise.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

The lipstick has a form and weight to it, but it’s overall quite easy to carry around and very maneuverable when it comes to the actual application.

I really like the luxurious aesthetic of the packaging, but I appreciate its functionality even more. In all honesty, the applicator was what scared me the most, but as you’ll see in just a second it’s pretty comfortable and easy to use!

WEAR TEST – 12 HOURS

Since the product has an actual 12 hours wear claim, I decided to really test it for 12 hours without re-applications or touch-ups. The test started Sunday at 9 a.m. and ended the same day at 9 p.m; I had a full face of makeup on, and my lips were prepped beforehand with a scrub, lip balm and a veil of foundation.

Uncuffed

This is what Uncuffed looked like at 9 a.m. Right away, I would like to say that the application resulted very precise even without a lip liner, and I did not need to dip in to gather more product.

Another thing that I noticed was that the product was already drying down while I was applying it, but did not feel like a liquid lipstick; its texture reminds me a lot of the NYX Liquid Suedes, cream lipsticks in liquid form. Regardless, the two formulations are not the same; this one dried way more quickly and more comfortably, leaving me questioning whether I had something on my lips or not.

THROUGHOUT THE MORNING

Throughout the morning I drank a cup of tea and some water using a straw, so I did not damage the lipstick too much, and then I went off to lunch around 1 p.m. I had a steak and salad, all accompanied with some bread and water of course; this is what my lips looked like at the end of the meal:

Uncuffed

The dryness was a lot more prominent than it was 4 hours before, but I wouldn’t say it’s very uncomfortable. In fact, the general look of the lipstick is pretty good in my opinion! I wouldn’t be too sad if I was out and forgot to bring Uncuffed with me; dryness may not be the best, but it’s better than having lipstick all over your face!

ALMOST OVER

At this point I stopped looking in the mirror to check the status of my lips; I decided to wait the 12 hours mark. Throughout the day I drank approximately 2 litres of water and tea, but using a straw definitely helped with damage control. I had a salad and boiled eggs for dinner, but since it still wasn’t 9 p.m. I decided not to check.

Once the hour striked and I was about to take my makeup off, this is what the Uncuffed looked like:

Uncuffed

At this point I would definitely need to re-apply and do a bit of touch-up work, but I do believe the formula to have held up to my expectations (and even further, to be honest!).

FINAL THOUGHTS

Ok, here we are. All in all, do I recommend the Uncuffed Stunna Lip Paint? I can’t recommend it enough, honestly!

I was worried the applicator would mess everything up, but it’s very easy to use and precise, and the pigmentation is simply stunning (no pun intended). For 24$ you get 0.13 fl. Oz, which is your avarage lipstick weight, but the formulation won’t disappoint you!

What really pleased me the most was how comfortably they sit on the lips; you can easily forget you’re even wearing them, and won’t need to touch up for quite a long time. If you’re headed to a buffet or a wedding, this is a must!
