Hey, pretty people!

I am on a roll with aesthetically pleasing beauty products (I would dare to define them ‘tumblr-inspired’), and serums are my favorite format at the moment.

I thought I would continue walking the flower route. After a quick trip in my garden, I decided to pick out a few violet flowers and get to work once again.

With daisies, I recommended an extra gentleness when it came down to the washing process before infusion. This time, you’ll need to be even more careful, since violets are even more fragile!

Another difference I encountered was the fragrance.

In fact, daisies don’t really have that much of a fragrance to them, whilst the natural one of violets is slightly more pungent and could potentially permiate the final product – even in a more faint manner.

So, are you finally ready to find out how to make your own DIY Violet Infused Water Face Serum?

Let’s get started!

YOU’LL NEED

  • 2 teaspoons of Aloe Vera Gel or Aloe Vera Oil
  • 3 teaspoons of Violet Infused Water
  • 1-2 Vitamin E Oil tab(s)
  • An empty serum bottle

Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and a few of their benefits for your skin.

ALOE VERA GEL

Aloe Vera Gel is a recurrent ingredient in my DIY skincare formulas, and a generally popular one. It can help gently moisturize and exfoliate the complexion, all the while fighting acne and keeping breakouts at bay. Also, it can help reduce the size of your pores. If you’d rather use Aloe Vera Oil, here are all the directions you’ll need to make it yourself! I personally decided to use the oil, because it was a lot easier to mix with the other ingredients.

VIOLET INFUSED WATER

Just like daisies, violets have been used as a skincare ingredient ever since ancient times. Violet Infused Water is packed with anti-inflammatory properties, which are perfect to fight acne, breakouts, redness and wounds. Moreover, this ingredient is perfect to moisturize your skin thoroughly and fight dry skin and a few of its conditions. Also, it can work to brighten your skin as well!

VITAMIN E OIL

Lastly, let’s spend a few words on Vitamin E Oil. This ingredient is here to make sure you can safely store your violet infused water serum outside of the fridge without it going bad. You could easily omit it altogether, but make sure to store the product into the fridge after every use. Even if you do end up adding it, make sure to keep a close eye on it either way!

Alright, let’s get crafting!

Firstly, let’s focus on our violet infused water; this process is going to take a little bit of time, so you better arm yourself with patience.

Once you have picked your flowers (about 5 of them), it’s time to give them a quick wash. Try to be as careful as you can while doing so, to preserve your daisies from damages.

Once they’re ready, it’s time to toss them in your cup of distilled water and let them sit overnight.

The following morning, sift the liquid and collect your violets, setting them aside to dry down.

Now that your water is ready, it’s time to add it to the aloe vera gel/oil and Vitamin E oil. Stirring the ingredients together to reach the perfect smooth consistency is going to be annoying, but be patient and keep going.

Lastly, now that your serum is nice, liquid and smooth, it’s time to pour it into your bottle. Before that, pop your violet flowers into the bottle as well.

And your DIY Violet Infused Water Face Serum is all ready to go!
