Hey, pretty people!

I have brought a few DIY lip products on the blog, a couple of them more recently than others.

The truth is that I only recently came up with a satisfying lip oil formula, and have started experimenting with it.

This recipe will not only bring relief to dry and chapped lips, but also provide a soft and pleasant wash of color on them.

The best part? You most likely already own all the ingredients required!

So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY tinted lip oil?

Let’s get started!

DIY Ultra Moisturizing & Plumping Lip Oil

YOU’LL NEED

  • 3 Tablespoons of Sweet Almond Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon of Honey
  • An eyeshadow of your choice
  • 1 Vitamin E Oil tab
  • An empty container (like a lip gloss or serum one)

DISCLAIMER

This recipe is not a lipstick, but a lip oil.

This means that the color won’t be bold, bright and pigmented, but soft and barely-there. Sure, a darker color will still have a bit more intensity than a lighter one, but surely you can’t expect a proper NYX Liquid Suede out of it!

Alright, let’s get crafting!

The first thing you want to do is break your eyeshadow into a super fine powder.

You want to work with dust, basically: take your time and be careful not to injure yourself!

Once you are satisfied with it, pour it into the sweet almond oil and stir the two ingredients together for a little bit. When you feel like they are well combined, let them chill for about two hours.

After a couple of hours, you want to strain the liquid to make sure the eyeshadow particles don’t end up in your final product. Feel free to repeat this step for a couple of times, to make sure the consistency is just right.

Now that your oil is ready, add the Vitamin E Oil tab and honey to it, and mix everything together.

This step is very annoying, I know, but it is also a crucial one; it will take a while, but be patient and keep going.

As soon as you see that the consistency is perfectly smooth, all you need to do is pour the mixture into the container.

And your DIY tinted lip oil is all ready to go!
