Hey, pretty people!

Not too long ago, I posted this Honey Water Face Spray; the formula was super simple to craft, and it was a great solution for people who wanted to add a kick of extra hydration to their skincare routine.

This formula is becoming a favorite of mine, and is designed to blend into your routine seamlessly with all your other products. It is super lightweight, and sinks into the skin like magic.

Honey water is perfect to moisturize the skin, and can also promote a much clearer and brighter complexion; moreover, it is one of the best solutions to make sure your pores are cleansed and unclogged.

So, are you ready to find out how to make your own DIY Honey Water Face Serum?

Let’s get started!

YOU’LL NEED

  • 2 teaspoons of Aloe Vera Gel/Oil
  • 2 teaspoons of Honey Water (keep reading for directions)
  • 1-2 Vitamin E Oil tab(s)
  • An empty serum bottle
  • A bowl

Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and a few of their benefits for your skin.

ALOE VERA GEL

Aloe Vera Gel is a recurrent ingredient in my DIY skincare formulas, and a generally popular one. It can help gently moisturize and exfoliate the complexion, all the while fighting acne and keeping breakouts at bay. Also, it can help reduce the size of your pores. If you’d rather use Aloe Vera Oil, here are all the directions you’ll need to make it yourself! I personally decided to use the oil, because it was a lot easier to mix with the other ingredients.

HONEY

A natural antiseptic, Honey is the go-to ingredient when it comes to healthy, glowing skin. Full of hydrating properties, this ingredient will help you fight acne and imperfections, promoting a healthier and clearer complexion. Moreover, it will help enhance your natural skintone fighting hyperpigmentation and discoloration.

VITAMIN E OIL

Lastly, let’s spend a few words on Vitamin E Oil. This ingredient is here to make sure you can safely store your citrus water serum outside of the fridge without it going bad. You could easily omit it altogether, but make sure to store the product into the fridge after every use. Even if you do end up adding it, make sure to keep a close eye on it either way!

Alright, let’s get crafting!

Firstly, let’s actually talk about the honey water; I personally like the water to reach a boiling point. then allow it to cool down for 20 minutes.

Once your water has cooled down, it’s time to add the honey and Vitamin E Oil tab(s); you want to stir everything for a couple of minutes at least, to make sure it is smooth and the honey has melted.

Now that your liquid base is ready, it’s time to add it to the aloe vera gel/oil and stir everything for a couple of minutes; this step is especially necessary if you chose to use aloe vera gel. You want the consistency to be smooth and liquid, so keep going and be patient.

Lastly, pour the formula into the serum bottle.

And your DIY Honey Water Face Serum is all ready to go!

  1. Hi, Can I not add the water? I like this serum but I don’t want to add a preservative for a water based serum

    1. Hi, thank you for reading! I would encourage you to try this recipe without the water and see how it turns out; would love to hear from you so I can maybe update the formula in the future!
