Hey, pretty people!

This is not exactly the first time I bring a DIY makeup setting spray on my blog. However, it is the first time I bring this particular recipe, with these specific ingredients!

It’s quite an easy crafting process to follow, although it will take you a little while to create the perfect product. Some of the steps need a little time to complete, and you’ll need a little patience to craft an amazing DIY Setting Spray.

The ingredients needed are pretty cheap and simple to find, and I am willing to be you already have them at home. However, before we get to the actual recipe, allow me to make a little disclaimer.

I would recommend storing this product in your fridge at all times, and adding 1 or 2 Vitamin E Oil tabs to it as well. This ingredient will help preserve the formula and keep it from going bad too quickly, but storing it in your fridge is still your best option.

So, after all of this chit-chatting, are you finally ready to find out how to make your own DIY Glowy Makeup Setting Spray?

Let’s get started!

YOU’LL NEED

  • 1 cup of Distilled Water
  • 1/2 cup of Aloe Vera Gel
  • An eyeshadow or highlighter of your choice
  • 1-2 Vitamin E Oil tab(s)
  • A spray bottle
  • A bowl, a spoon and a knife

Before jumping into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and let’s make a few disclaimers.

SMALL DISCLAIMERS!

When it comes to choosing between using an eyeshadow or an highlighter, I leave you creative liberty. I would recommend picking something that you could use as a highlighter for your skintone. This will ensure the spray provides a more natural finish once used.

If you read the list of ingredients from before, you may have noticed that I have not indicated any measurements for eyeshadow/highlighter.

That’s because, once again, you can make your call here. The more you use, the more glowy and dewy the end result will be. Using less will provide a more natural effect.

Alright, now that we have got all of the important disclaimers out of the way, it’s time to get crafting!

Firstly, you want to grate your eyeshadow/highlighter into the finest powder possible; make sure to put a newspaper on your table, and use the knife carefully to prevent cutting yourself.

Like I said at the beginning of the post, this is one of those steps you want to take your time with and be extra patient. You need to reduce the pressed powder into the finest dust possible, so don’t be afraid to use a sifter as well.

Once you have your sparkly element ready, it’s time to focus on the actual setting spray. You’ll want to take your time with this step as well, as it is crucial to creating the perfect DIY Setting Spray.

THE WATER BASE

Add the aloe vera gel and the Vitamin E Oil tabs to your water, and stir everything together until the mixture becomes perfectly liquid and smooth. This will take a little time, but I promise it’ll be worth it in the end! Make sure to be careful when breaking the Vitamin E Oil tabs and don’t cut yourself!

Once you are satisfied with the consistency of your liquid base, add the crushed eyeshadow/highlighter and, again, stir the ingredients. You want them to be perfectly blended together, so make sure there are no clumps. Taking your time is, once more, crucial.

Lastly, when you feel satisfied, pour the liquid into your empty and sanitized spray bottle.

And your DIY Glowy Makeup Setting Spray is all ready to go!
