Hey, pretty people!

Don’t feel personally attacked by the title of this article! I truly don’t mean to imply your personal hygiene routine is wrong or you’re not taking proper care of it.

The aim of this post is to possibly help you out with keeping fresh all day long, especially if you have very long working days to go through. Hopefully you’ll find out a few tips and tricks you can incorporate in your routine!

This particular routine is not too lengthy, although it does look like it.

I promise you, that’s just an illusion! It’s the perfect routine if you can only get ready in one go, and as fast as possible.

It will help you stay fresh and clean for the entire day, and will make your fragrance last a lot longer than usual. Try it to believe!

Before I leave you to it, I just want to say I focused on body skin in this article. I purposefully left out hair care or anything that doesn’t pertain to the body, and that excludes facial skin care. Hope you won’t mind too much!

So, are you finally ready to find out how to layer hygiene products to smell good all day long?

Let’s get started!

SCRUB AWAY

The first step of this hygiene routine is to scrub away all the dead skin cells from your body. It’s pretty basic, but it’s the perfect place to start!

Exfoliating your skin is great to not only improve the texture of your skin, but also triggering the cells to turn over. It will make your skin look nice and glowy, and will soften it a great deal. It’s also quite beneficial to do it before shaving, since you will remove more build-up that way.

Firstly, I would recommend using an exfoliating glove with some soap. Secondly, go ahead and use your preferred scrub. I have used a lot of the Organic Shop’s body scrubs, and I have to say they’re among my absolute favorites at the moment. If you have any recommendations, sound off in the comments!

BODY WASH

Needless to say, using your body wash is a crucial step to the whole hygiene routine! I don’t have much to say about this part of the process, as you can guess. However, I do have a small suggestion for you.

If you already know which lotion and fragrance you’re going to be using, I would recommend picking a body wash (and a scrub, too) in the same fragrance family. This will furtherly enhance your ‘natural’ scent, so that even when your perfume fades you’ll still carry bits and pieces of it. Pretty smart, huh?

OIL + MOISTURIZER, IN THIS ORDER

Once you have stepped out of the shower, it’s time to hydrate your skin. This step is quite important and I would advise you not to skip it; if you don’t have time to do both, please pick at least one.

The reason you want to start off with the body oil is simple, although it’s often overlooked. Using the body oil first will give your skin a first burst of hydration, and won’t mess up the consistency of the moisturizer later. In fact, if you switch the order of these products the oil will end up breaking the body butter. That‘s something you definitely don’t want.

Like I said before, it would be beneficial to pick something in the same lane of your perfume if you do wear one. However, there’s plenty of unscented options for you to choose from!

DEODORANT

I am pretty sure this step is self-explanatory, right?

PERFUME

Lastly, it’s time for the main event: fragrance!

If you already checked out my How To Smell Like A Snack guide, then you’re already familiar with a couple of tips and tricks that will help you strengthen your scent throughout the day; if not, I would strongly suggest you to skim through it. There are a bunch of helpful tips you can implement in your daily routine that will make a huge difference in the strength of your scent!

To give you a quick run-down, make sure to apply perfume to your pressure points (behind ears, neck, wrists, inside of your elbow, behind knees) and, possibly, on your clothes as well! This will definitely help your scent last longer in the long run.
