Hey, pretty people!

It’s been a hot minute ever since I posted my last DIY Lush recipe, and I have to say I missed it!

I have had an amazing time trying to replicate Lush formulation in the past. However, I sort of let that momentum die slowly and I wasn’t too sure I was going to bring it up. That’s when I stumbled upon this product online!

Sleepy Dust is such a new and interesting formula for me, it actually took me a couple of times to get the hang of it.

I think it’s a pretty fascinating product to try out, especially if it’s not something you’re used to. It’s definitely a nice step out of your comfort zone!

So, are you ready to find out how to make your very own DIY Lush Sleepy Dust?

Let’s get started!

YOU’LL NEED:

  • 1/4 cup of Coconut Oil or Cocoa Butter
  • 1/2 cup of Tapioca Starch
  • 1/4 cup of Chamomile Tea Grounds
  • 1/4 cup of ground Lavender
  • 10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 5 drops of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Before jumping straight into the crafting process, let’s quickly talk about these ingredients and let’s spend a few words on this formula, too.

A FEW DISCLAIMERS!

This crafting process is going to be a little trickier compared to the ones I have previously brought on here; take your time and don’t rush things, you’re going to need a little bit of time!

The Chamomile Tea and Lavender grounds are pretty fine in general, but you want to extract the finest powder possible from them. This is a bit time-consuming, but it will make a big impact when it comes to the final consistency.

I used a coffee grinder for this, but you could easily use a mortar and pestle. A blender will work fine as well!

APPLICATION

Now, the big question: how can I use this product? That’s the most interesting part, for me!

Sleepy Dust is perfect to use whenever you need a boost of freshness – especially this Summer. This formula can absorb sweat and oils quite well, making it perfect to use throughout the hotter months. You could even store a little bit in a small jar and carry it around in your bag!

Another use you can find for it is to apply it on top of your lotion; it will absorb the excess oils and have your clothes effortelessly glide on your body.

Alright, let’s get crafting!

Firstly, you want to focus on grinding the Chamomile Tea and Lavender grounds into a fine powder. As annoying and time consuming as it is, you want to reach the smoothest, finest consistency possible.

Once you have done that, sift your tapioca starch so that it will become even finer; again, please be patient!

As soon as your powders are ready, add all of your ingredients into a blender and blend them together for a couple of minutes. You want the consistency to be smooth and powdery, so take your time with this step!

Once you have reached the perfect consistency, it’s time to transfer the formula into your desired container.

And your DIY Lush Sleepy Dust is all ready to go!

♡  Thank you so much for reading! I hope we kept each other company for a while. Have a wonderful day! ♡
