I have brought quite a few DIY (exfoliating) face masks on the blog, but I have just recently realized that not many of them have been focused on dry skin.
There are a few options for acne-prone and oily complexions, but dry skintypes haven’t been a priority of mine.
I did not want to let the exfoliating element slip away, so I figured we could still preserve it without loosing the moisturizing addition – enhancing it, if anything.
So, ready to find out how to make the perfect DIY exfoliating face mask for dry skin?
Let’s get started!
Before starting out, let’s talk a little bit about these ingredients.
Oats are amazing when it comes to fight itching and inflammation. Also, being full of antioxidant properties, is a great ally when it comes to treat acne and texture. Lastly, it is a great moisturizing and gentle exfoliator.
Chamomile tea, despite being a delicious beverage, is a great ingredient to fight acne and blemishes, and also prevent breakouts. Moreover, it is a key ingredient to promote a healthy and glowing complexion.
Speaking of glow and moisture, let’s talk about honey. Besides the obvious, this liquid gold is amazing at treating acne and breakouts, and cleanse pores like nobody’s business.
The first thing you want to do is make your chamomile tea.
This is the part that will take you the most time, mainly because you want the tea to be cooled down before actually start making the face mask.
Once you put the bag into the hot boiling water, let it sit for about 15-20 minutes.
As soon as the liquid has cooled down, pour it on the oats and add the honey to the mixture.
You want to mix everything for a couple of minutes, to ensure the ingredients are blended and ready to work together.
Once you have reached a somewhat cohesive consistency, you’ll know the mask is ready to go!
